First Blog Post!!!

Hi Everyone!

I decided to finally come a little more into the 21st century with this blog (since I'm still refusing to join facebook or twitter etc...). I have a couple of friends that have blogs and I LOVE reading what is new and going on in their lives and I figured that since 90% of our family and friends are not local that everyone might enjoy occassional updates from us!

Since our wedding Kris and I have settled into our apartment in Windsor Mill, Maryland. Kris is also teaching 4th, 5th and 6th grade beginning band and strings at 3 different elementary schools in Prince George's County, Maryland. I'm still working as a nanny for the same family, it's been over 2 years now and the kids are getting so big!

2011 started off on a pretty low note for the two of us. I slipped and fell and got a mild concussion and then 3 days later Kris developed kidney stones which then 2 days after that turned into a kidney infection. Needless to say we had 3 ER visits and 1 Urgent Care visit in 6 days! Kris luckily passed his kidney stone about a week after it started so he is 100% good to go. I'm unfortunately still having to take medicines to control headaches, dizzyness and sleeping problems but at least with the medication I feel 100%. My next neurology apt is in early May so hopefully at that point my body will have healed enough that I can stop taking the medications.

Since then things have been definitely improving for us and some highlights include celebrating our birthdays, a marima recital by Kris, a day at Longwood Gardens with my friend Steph and most recently we attended a "Weekend to Remember" marriage conference (there will be a seperate post about that later!).

This summer is already shaping up to be pretty busy between Kris's marching band camps! We are planning a 1 week vacation to Michigan so he can show me around his home state and I'll get a chance to meet some of his old friends.

That's all for now but I look forward to posting more often and hopefully this will keep us in better touch with all our friends and family!

Love
Courtney :)
