New Adventures

Let me preface this post as this has just been one of those days where almost everything you try doesn't just fail, but miserably fails! So after 2 trips to the grocery store, 2 trips to the hardware store (unfortunately not combined so 4 trips total) plus spilling a 5lb bucket of cat food all over my not very clean kitchen floor I decided to just get a glass of wine and update my blog...of course my computer has already crashed once so I'll consider it a miracle if this post actually get published!

So we've had some new adventures over the past week!

First off last weekend Kris and I went to my first car show. For any of you that don't know Kris is a car enthusiast whereas I'm lucky to know the difference between the brands of cars. However in my attempt to expand my horizons I found a little local car show and so we wandered around for an hour on Sunday looking at some pretty cool cars. Most of them were older and there was even one from 1930. I learned *a little bit* more about cars and the restoration process and Kris and I dreamed of the day that we could actually own a garage (well a house with a garage attached but you get the idea....) so he could buy a project car to work on :) Here are some of the pictures from Sunday!

A Cougar with a stuffed Cougar in the back...too cute!!!

I made this one extra large so you could see the date on the license plate!

This week at work the kids and I also did some exploring and found a new park about 1.5 miles from their house. It's not very big and unfortunately what we thought was going to the main attraction (swings) were broken (you'd be surprised how hard it is to find a park with swings...Jake's goal is to find one with a real see-saw!) but nevertheless the fact that it had a sandbox was all the entertainment the kids needed. We were there Wednesday for over an hour and went back today with shovels and some sand toys and stayed for another hour until the threat of rain made us decide it was lunchtime. Here are some cute (as always) pics of the kids playing in the sandbox....

Brooke being a monkey...she asked if she could sit up there and I told her if she found her own way up...of course she did!!!

The Start of Summer!!!!

So I think it is safe to say summer is finally here and that means the start of our blowup pool season!! (We go through 3-4/season normally). The kids had a blast today playing in the pool and I actually  remembered my bathing suit so I could join in the fun. This year we have a super fun slide that is an absolute blast.

Jake finished pre-school 2 weeks ago (crazy!!!) so for the next couple of months I have both him and Brooke each day. So far though I am loving the hot days because I keep wearing Jake out enough that he is almost taking daily naps which hasn't happened on a regular basis in months!

In other news the new Civic had its first major roadtrip when we went to Blacksburg, VA over Memorial Day weekend to visit Kris's parents and sister/brother-in-law. We had a very nice, relaxing trip complete with a visit to an absolute fabulous restaurant in Roanoke! Mmmm... :) Unfortunately Kris's sister had 2 kidney stones and a kidney infection over the weekend so we didn't get to see quite as much of her and her husband as we'd like but she was a trooper and by the end of the weekend felt up to visitors.

Since then Kris has had a ton of concerts at all his schools and I've been playing gigs left and right. Also Kris has decided we could both stand to use more exercise and so he bought  P90x...We are 4-5 days in and we are both more sore then we knew was possible. I just look forward to the day I can do the workouts and not have to stop halfway through each set!

Here's to a super fun summer!!!
