Dragon Boats (Finally!!!)

After our fun night being Pirates we decided we weren't quite done exploring the Inner Harbor from a boat. We *finally* went on the Dragon paddle boats! I say finally because this is something I've been wanting to do since I moved down here :) We had a relaxing time paddling around and got some good pictures of the skyline...Enjoy!

Shiver me Timbers!!!!

So Kris and I had a very fun and eventful 4th of July weekend starting Saturday with an Urban Pirate adult BYOG (Bring your own Grog) boat cruise around Inner Harbor. Luckily, because of a very generous family that I babysit for, we had a condo in Inner Harbor for the night so we didn't have to worry about driving afterward. When you initially arrive the first part is spent dressing you up like a pirate, complete with costumes and temporary tattoos!

As you probably can also tell they give you a shotglass necklace when you come on board (which comes into play later). Just to state the obvious as well the ship is decked out like a true pirate ship...ARRGGG!
After they explain some rules and introduce you to the bottle of Captain Morgan's that they will be sharing via your necklace it's time to castoff for the great beyond (or the Inner Harbor of Baltimore!)
While cruising around the Harbor you play pirate games to win some grog (such as Pass Carl's Nuts...really a variation of hot potato play with coconuts!) Eventually when you get closer to shore they introduce you to the water cannons on board....

Just to give you some added incentive on the water cannons we have a thief come and try to steal our grog! (really just another cast member in a speedboat) whom you can freely douse with water.
After successfully defending the ship it was time for a dance party while we made our way back to shore. We had an awesome time and would definitely go again (and as a side note they do cruises during the day for kids). The next installment of our 4th of July weekend is forthcoming....
