Summer Fun with Jake and Brooke

So of course we've been having fun over the first few weeks of Summer (although we could use some less rain...) and luckily two of the days I was able to capture some great pictures....
First up is the random water hose battle. I just love it when stuff like this happens because to me this is what childhood is about. It's not about making it to the next class on time or even squeezing in one more play date on an already overcrowded schedule. To me it is the time when you let playing be the most important thing and just follow where it goes. This was a very warm morning that started with both of them watering the trees with their water guns...which then progressed to them watering each other....which lead to the hose getting involved and viola here is the end result!!!!
Yes notice that clothes are still on...what's the point of changing into bathing suits at this point??? :) Enjoy some other precious pictures from that morning....

Too Cute!!!!

A few days later we went to the "Tire Park" (it makes sense when you see the pictures) and had by far our most exciting nature adventure of the summer thus far....we got to see a gardner snake start to eat a toad!!! (Until the nature center people came to stop it). There was this snake inside one of the tires that actually Jake happened to be sitting in with a friend and it moved and needless to say the two boys shot out of each end. Jake did really well though, he wasn't scared at all, just very excited! So then we all got front row seats to watch this snake crawl around for a bit until a toad jumped in front of it and it grabbed onto the leg and wouldn't let go. It was soo fascinating, I was totally thrilled :) Sadly when I left to get my camera to get pictures is when the Nature Center guy came and separated them so all I got was the toad but this gives you an idea of the context....

Other than the nature aspect far and away the other favorite part of the tire park are the swings...

Here are just some other great shots from that day...Enjoy!!
