In case any of you are wondering the shirts we were wearing are from runningprincess.com and the back of the shirt has an adorable poem on it:
"The race is my ball; my running shoes are my glass slippers; the finish line is my prince charming; and the accomplishment is my happily ever after."
Before heading back to the hotel we actually stood in line for a while to get tickets to enter the Holocaust Museum. Because this museum is so popular you have to be there around 10am to get a timed entry ticket into the exhibit. We luckily got tickets for around the time we wanted (approx 1:30) and then headed back to our hotel to shower, change, pack and check out.
Once we got back into the mall area to we headed back to the Museum of Natural History because last year they had this awesome orchid exhibit. We were disappointed to learn that was actually a traveling exhibit and not a permanent one. Next we headed over to the Holocaust Museum which was very sobering. It is a very interesting although deep and dark exhibit. While I recommend everyone goes at least once it's certainly not a place you could frequent or that I would suggest for young children. There is no photography allowed although honestly even if we could have taken pictures I doubt there would be any I'd want to post.
On a lighter note afterwards we grabbed a very good lunch at the cafe for the Holocaust Museum (it's all kosher so it's super fresh) and headed to the Native American Museum. This was not a stop on our original iternrary but we happened to catch a sign advertising a horse exhibit they had and Twin and I are not ones to pass up free horse exhibits! I'm SOOO glad we ended up going, that museum was amazing and sadly we only had enough time to get through the horse exhibit before we had to leave. Luckily for me my Mom is coming down in a few weeks and her and I are planning a whole day to spend there if we want because there seemed to be so many interesting areas to explore. Besides what is in the museum the outside is worth looking at too! Enjoy the pictures :)

Their beadwork is amazing |
After closing out the Native American Museum we headed over to catch a little (little being the keyword) of Air and Space. We really only got to wander around the first floor and the gift shop (which had a HUGE Star Wars section so my husband is forbidden from entering).

We had to head out of Air and Space slightly before closing to catch our final activity of the weekend, a boat cruise down the Potomac to catch the monuments by water. We made it to the boat just in time :) We had a pleasant cruise and while the tour guide wasn't the best I've ever seen it certainly was nice to just sit and relax for a while.
It always looks demonic when the red lights are on at night |
Yes in the lower left of this picture you can see one of the few Cherry Blossom trees that had flowers on it! |
I love that you can see the Washington Monument in the background |

Who knew I'd be playing a concert there just a few weeks later! |
Sadly after the boat ride it was time to head back to Baltimore. We rounded up our stuff and the Prius and headed back. It was another amazing weekend and here's hoping we can make it happen it again soon!
